This little beauty has removable drive bays in the rear of the unit.  This will be my next purchase.

Getting the most out of your computers network is a beautiful thing. Why wait for those files to transfer when you can do it up to 10x faster by installing these items.  For Mac users, most of you will have a gigabit ethernet connection on your computer.  The PC users will have to have their technician check their computer for this port.  If you do not you can buy a gigabit card - D-Link GigaExpress 10/100/1000Mbps PCI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter price aprox $29.95.  Next you will need a D-Link Green Ethernet 8-port 10/100/1000Mbps Desktop Switch price aprox  $59.95 and you would hook this up to your router.  Then connect your computers to the new switch.  This will increase your file transfer speed by a possible 10x faster.

Card readers

When your downloading your cards onto your computer, do ever think that this sure takes along time.  Maybe this is your answer!

Did you know that a firewire 800 reader is almost twice as fast as a regular USB 2 reader.   If you have UDMA cards these will really download fast on these readers.  My recommendation is the Lexar UDMA FireWire 800 reader and next fastest is the New USB 2 reader below.

The costs on these units run from $50.00 to 65.00 US.
